Sledders will need to carry extra gas if they plan on sledding around Elkford

For those living in Elkford, it’s not uncommon to hear the signature “braap, braap, braap” sound of sleds from their backyard. Snowmobilers in Elkford don’t have to travel far to get to good riding areas because there are plenty of trails accessible from the edge of town.

Koko Claims is a popular choice for snowmobilers. From this trail, intermediate riders gain access to large bowls at Smith Basin and Mear Lake. The Koko Claims trail ends up in the Bull River Valley. From there, sledders can spend countless hours exploring new terrain—the only limit is how much extra gas they carry.
