This is it: The final round of SledTown ShowDown 2023!
Many beloved snowmobiling destinations entered the competition, and now only two remain: Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, and Thompson, Manitoba!
Here’s a recap of the semi-finals:
British Columbia Provincial Champion vs. Alberta Provincial Champion:
Tumbler Ridge (912 votes, 54%) defeated Swan Hills (769 votes, 46%)
Manitoba Provincial Champion vs. Saskatchewan Provincial Champion:
Thompson (1,185 votes, 55%) defeated Hudson Bay (984 votes, 45%)
Well, well, well, look who decided to show up and shatter everyone’s March Madness bracket: Thompson, Manitoba—that’s who! Thompson had yet to win a provincial title coming into this year’s competition. Now they’ve upset the balance of power by knocking off both the reigning SledTown champs (Flin Flon) and Hudson Bay, the five-time provincial champions from Saskatchewan. Can Thompson cement its place in history by becoming the winner of SnoRiders’ 9th annual SledTown ShowDown?
Tumbler Ridge has been here before, when the prolific SledTown won the whole shebang back in 2019. Can Tumbler Ridge scale these lofty heights once again and claim a second SledTown ShowDown championship?

Round 6 runs April 11 to 23, 2023.
New to the contest? This is how it works: we start with 16 destinations from each Western province in Canada. Each round, our readers vote for their favourites and the destinations get whittled down. By Round 4, we’ll have our provincial winners, which will go head-to-head until only one town remains to be crowned the 2023 SledTown ShowDown Champion of Western Canada.
