Round 5: SledTown ShowDown is down to the final four

The final four provincial champions go head-to-head during Round 5 of SledTown ShowDown 2023

Round 5 of SnoRiders SledTown Showdown begins.

The provincial finals of SledTown ShowDown 2023 have wrapped up…

Which two provincial champions will advance through Round 5 and take their places in the finals? Before you make your decision, let’s celebrate our provincial winners:

Tumbler Ridge—British Columbia Sledtown champion

Congratulations to Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia’s 2023 SledTown ShowDown provincial champion!

Tumbler Ridge won in a tight race against provincial rival Sicamous (54% vs 46%) to take home their second provincial title. (Tumbler Ridge was the SledTown Champion in 2019.)

Swan Hills—Alberta Sledtown champion

Congratulations to Swan Hills, Alberta’s 2023 SledTown ShowDown provincial champion!

Swan Hills took down nearby Whitecourt by the widest margin of the final four winners (66% vs 34%). Swan Hills now joins Whitecourt and Edson as two-time Alberta champions. (Swan Hills was also Alberta’s Sledtown champ in 2022.)

Hudson Bay—Saskatchewan SledTown champion

Congratulations to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan’s 2023 SledTown ShowDown provincial champion!

Hudson Bay swept to victory in convincing fashion over Archerwill (63% vs 37%). With it’s fourth Saskatchewan championship, Hudson Bay becomes the most decorated provincial champion in Sledtown History.

Thompson—Manitoba SledTown champion

Congratulations to Thompson, Manitoba’s 2023 SledTown ShowDown provincial champion!

This is Thompson’s first ever Manitoba SledTown championship! They took down two-time overall SledTown champion Flin Flon on their way to Manitoba supremacy. (65% vs 35%)

Round 5 runs March 28 to April 9, 2023.

New to the contest? This is how it works: we start with 16 destinations from each Western province in Canada. Each round, our readers vote for their favourites and the destinations get whittled down. By Round 4, we’ll have our provincial winners, which will go head-to-head until only one town remains to be crowned the 2023 SledTown ShowDown Champion of Western Canada.
