New EZRyde Trail snowmobile suspension

by Kirsten Armleder

Love riding trails, but hate the bumps? The folks at EZRyde down in Houghton, Michigan, can fix that with the new EZRyde Trail.

An aftermarket rear suspension that was introduced this spring, EZRyde Trail completely replaces and upgrades your snowmobile’s stock skid to one that is lighter and better equipped to handle the bumps. Aerospace aluminum components provide the weight savings, plus durability.

The EZRyde Trail also benefits from the same rotational technology as the EZRyde Carve (see our write-up on this). The result is a smoother, more predictable ride. Think of those off-camber bumps that normally pitch your sled sideways. By rotating and ultimately keeping the track flat with the surface of the ground, the EZ Ryde Trail absorbs the impact better than does a stock suspension and keeps the sled going straight. Like the Carve, the EZRyde Trail is adjustable so that you can limit the amount of rotational movement.

Right now, the new EZRyde Trail is available for purchase through pre-order only, but the company says it will be shipping to EZRyde dealers in the fall of 2015. For pricing and more info, see the website
