If you’re looking for an aftermarket snowmobile suspension that does more than just soak up the bumps, then you’ll want to check out the new EZRyde Carve.
It is designed by the same company that made the original EZRyde suspension. Like its predecessor, the EZRyde Carve is lightweight and strong—thanks to aerospace aluminum— but instead of being stationary, the EZRyde Carve offers up to 20 degrees of rotational movement at the rear of the main swing arm. Like Ski-Doo’s tMotion, the EZRyde Carve is designed to keep the front and rear of the lower skid assembly on the surface, even when the skis aren’t parallel to the surface, so that carving and sidehilling can be easier.
Does it work? Just watch Keith Curtis. The Rocky Mountain States HillClimb Association's 2014 King of Kings was testing the EZRyde Carve last season in his race sled. According to sources, he loved it so much that he’s swapping out the suspension in his backcountry sled for an EZRyde Carve this winter.
The amount of rotation on the EZRyde Carve is adjustable, too, so if you want less twist, just replace the damping coupler with a stiffer one (sold separately). It can be tuned according to your riding needs. The EZRyde Carve also comes with a locking feature that allows you to prevent the suspension from rotating at all, and this adjustment can be made right on the trail.
The EZRyde Carve will be available for purchase this fall. Top Secret Shop in Salmon Arm, B.C., is an authorized EZRyde dealer and will be selling the EZRyde Carve this season. For more information about this product, see the company’s website.
