This last weekend Whitecourt, Alberta transformed itself from the Snowmobile Capital of Alberta to the Snowmobile Capital of the World – and thanks for SnoRiders intrepid reporter Kirsten Armleder and her husband Monte Smith for providing us with minute-by-minute reports and stream of social media updates.

Thousands turned out for the 5-day event and in the course of all the excitement a new world record was set when 1044 snowmobiles paraded through the town. In addition to numerous international delegates and celebrity-status riders the World Snowmobile Invasion attracted enthusiastic snowmobilers from near and far.

A tip of the toque or snowmobile helmet to the organizers of the World Snowmobile Invasion and to Kirsten Armleder our on the scene reporter. SnoRiders was pleased to be the official magazine of the event!

Be sure to watch for more post-event reports from SnoRiders’ Kirsten Armleder.
