Make no mistake, the sledding around Saskatoon is a delight. If we had to pick a favourite snowmobiling zone in the area, it would have to be Nisbet Provincial Forest. This is a prime location for off-trail sledding through ungroomed forest trails.

If you head north through Nisbet Provincial Forest, you can even access trails leading into the Prince Albert riding areas. Alternatively, you can also set off from the main warm-up shelter (which was once a school house), as it is located close to town and provides parking - this will grant you access to a number of extensive trail networks.

If you aren't sure where to start, you can always ask a member of the Saskatoon Snowmobile Club for directions, suggestions and hard-copy maps of the area.

Remember that for sledding in any part of Saskatchewan, you must register with the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association. Your registration can be purchased at any SGI motor license issuer in the province.

In the meantime, have a look at some of the gorgeous Saskatoon snowmobiling shots that have been sent in by our readers.
