ESPN’s X Games announces sponsors for X Games Aspen 2014

ESPN announced today the roster of sponsors for X Games Aspen 2014, taking place in Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. on Jan. 23-26 with live coverage on ESPN and ABC. New sponsors to join this year’s event include Monster Energy, the official energy drink sponsor of X Games Aspen, as well as Harley-Davidson, Cub Cadet, Gildan and Phunkshun Wear Facemasks. Returning sponsors include America’s Navy, GoPro, Jeep®, Repreve, Skype, Loctite, Oakley and Polaris.

The premier action sports winter event will celebrate its 13th showcase the talents of more than 200 athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in the sports of Snowboard, Ski and Snowmobile. Snowboarder X and Snowmobile Long Jump will return to the X Games Aspen list of disciplines in 2014 after a brief hiatus.

Elements featured as part of sponsor packages include on-site activations as well as rights to official marks and logos. Additionally, some sponsors receive a media presence during games telecasts, prominent positions across digital and social X Games platforms during the event along with VIP hospitality experiences on site.

Officially sponsoring X Games Aspen for the first time is Monster Energy, which will be sampling products to fans, featuring athlete autograph signings and offering private viewing suites from their premium activation space at the sponsor village. Additionally, America’s Navy will challenge fans to a pull-up contest as well as host athlete signings. GoPro, the official camera sponsor, will host daily giveaways and athlete signings.

For the 11th consecutive year, Jeep is the exclusive automotive sponsor of the X Games Aspen, showcasing its 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition and hosting Winter X autograph sessions at its Jeep “Tag Shop.” The brand is also providing fans with its Jeep Snow Patrol shuttle service between downtown Aspen and the mountain.

Harley-Davidson also joins the roster of sponsors as part of the U.S. reveal of the new Harley-Davidson Street™ motorcycle. The first all-new motorcycle platform from the company in 13 years features a new liquid cooled Revolution X™ engine and will be available in dealerships nationwide later this year. The Harley-Davidson Street™ is the newest addition to the Dark Custom motorcycle lineup.

Repreve, a registered trademark of Unifi, Inc. and proud recycling sponsor of the X Games Aspen, will distribute recycling stations throughout the venue. Fans will have the opportunity to participate in several athlete signings and browse product displays, all provided by Cub Cadet, Loctite, Oakley and Polaris. First-year sponsor Phunkshun Wear Facemasks will have an interactive presence which will include ticket raffles and facemask giveaways.

ESPN and ABC will televise a combined 16 hours of live X Games Aspen competition in high definition beginning Thursday, January 23, 2014. An additional 10 hours of competition will be carried on ESPN3 as well as the latest coverage across ESPN digital platforms, including XGames.com, X Games app, X Games pages across Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, Instagram and more.
