You will be blown away by the sledding territory in Waskesiu, Saskatchewan. There are trails stretching out in all directions, granting a seemingly endless array of routes to pursue.
While you're embracing the Waskesiu terrain, be sure to check out these top gathering spots for snomobilers:
Candle Lake
Accessed via the Chris Can Trail, Candle Lake has a network of routes to explore. You can also take Trail 205B in this area, which will bring you to the northern part of Prince Albert and then back along Trail 212R alongside the highway. If you want something less intensive, you can cut the trip short and stop at the cabin on the Chris Can Trail for some relaxation and socialization with your sledding buddies.
Sturgeon River Shelter
You can reach the Sturgeon River Shelter via a trail that runs along the southern part of Prince Albert National Park. The hilly terrain here gives riders a challenge, so it may be best suited for more experienced sledders. After you reach the warm-up shelter, you can connect with the Canwood Sno-Blazers' trail network, which you will find to the west.
Timber Cove
Try travelling north from Emma or Christopher lakes and enjoy a day trip to Timber Cove. For the most part, the trail here is easy to ride, but there are a few twists and turns along the way. Make sure to visit the restaurant in Elk Ridge—a favourite sledder hangout. You can also find a warm-up shelter near the north end of the trail.
