As the return to Fort McMurray begins, one of the most daunting tasks is assessing the damage and then planning a strategy to rebuild and re-establish the city.
This will be hard enough for individuals and families who have lost everything in the devastating wildfire that swept through Fort McMurray in early May. However, re-establishing and rebuilding a business operation will be equally challenging, if not an even more daunting and difficult undertaking.
With the support of OEM Polaris Industries Inc. one Fort McMurray business, Four Seasons Power Sports, is looking to literally rise from the ashes. Polaris announced its full support and a donation of $10,000 to help Fort McMurray residents get back on their feet.
Four Seasons Power Sports is a full line motorsports dealership which is owned and operated by Gene Ouellette and his 15-member staff. Four Seasons suffered catastrophic and total loss of their popular and busy dealership. However, Ouellette’s team is determined to come back even stronger.
“We are making plans to rebuild and are focused on renewing our support to the community that is our home,” said Gene Ouellette. “Every one of our staff is passionate about powersports and want to get back to work. We’re very appreciative to have such huge support from the Polaris family.”
As part of their donation, Polaris is also asking employees in Canada and the U.S., dealers and their vendor communities to donate funds to the effort through the Canadian Red Cross Polaris Microsite. The Canadian Government will match every dollar raised by the Canadian Red Cross.
Polaris Industries Inc. is the leading manufacturer of off-road vehicles. On May 31st Polaris announced the company had donated $10,000, through the Canadian Red Cross, plus the use of five Polaris Ranger utility vehicles and Polaris generators to help with the recovery efforts from the massive Fort McMurray wildfires.
