Loading a snowmobile can be an intimidating task, especially if you are brand new to the sport. Momentum is usually your friend, but there is a fine line between being so tentative on the throttle that you get stuck in the middle of the ramp and coming in so hot that you end up on YouTube’s next compilation of epic snowmobile fails.

Loading takes practice, but in addition there are some great products on the market these days that make loading and unloading a snowmobile much easier—and safer, too. Here are three products from the Canadian-based leader in this department, Bowdriks Industries:

1. SuperGlides

Many used and some new decks and trailers come with SuperGlides already installed. Why? Because they help protect the surface of your sled hauler. More importantly, however,  they have channels that keep your skis straight when you’re loading up a ramp. The glides also have knobs that give your boots some traction when you’re walking around the trailer or up and down the ramp.

2. SuperClamps

SuperClamps are the world’s number one tie-down system, and for good reason. Unlike ratchet straps, which fray and seem to always get tangled up in the bed of your truck, SuperClamps are a solid device that secures your sled by the front skies to a hook that is fastened on the floor of the deck or trailer. You can also get SuperClamps Rear to secure the back of your sled. Clamp it down and your sleds not going anywhere. The other advantage SuperClamps offer is that they allow you to lock up your snowmobile.

3. SuperTraction Grid

Ideal for enclosed and tilt trailers, the SuperTraction Grid from Bowdriks is another innovative product that was just launched for the 2016-2017 season. We haven’t had a chance to test it out, but the idea is to give your snowmobile track some traction for loading and unloading. The grid, which accommodates all types of snowmobile tracks (even studded), also protects your trailer surface and offers some traction for you. Each box contains four SuperTraction Grids that are 75 centimetres long and four centimetres wide.
