The Colorado Snowmobile Association hosted the 46th Annual Snowmobile Congress in Keystone in June at the Keystone Resort. Nearly 350 passionate snowmobilers spent several days in mid-June discussing the challenges and victories of their favorite recreation. Always present in every discussion was the fun, the good times and the good friends!
The American Council of Snowmobile Associations held their annual meeting during the event, including the Western, Midwest and Northeastern Chapters, along with the International Snowmobile Council. Organizations also participating and holding meetings were the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association, International Association of Snowmobile Administrators, Canadian Council of Snowmobile Council, International Snowmobile Media Council, International Tourism Council, Iron Dogs and the Thirsty Dogs.
Officers re-elected for ACSA were Duane Sutton, President, Bob Kirchner, Vice President and Judy King, Secretary/Treasurer. The Chapters also held elections. Chapter Chairs are Gary Broderick, Northeast, Joann Smith from the Midwest and Scott Herzog for the West. Sue Giese was elected Secretary/Treasurer for the International Snowmobile Council.
Special events always take place during the ISC and this year was no exception. FOSPAC had plans to use Keystone Lake for paddleboat races and other water-related events. Unfortunately the lake was drained—so it was FUN bowling for all! The VIP Reception was once again a Legal Defense Fundraiser and was held immediately preceding the Off-Site at the Stables. The2015 Reception was held at a pavilion on the grounds—and the Thirsty Dogs had planned to use it the following night—however Mother Nature had other ideas when the pavilion was found leveled in the morning!
There were live auctions, a silent auction, and raffles of every kind as fundraisers. Thanks to the generosity of all that donated items, placed bids and bought! Thousands of dollars were generated to support organized snowmobiling!!
The 2014 ISC was another very successful event!
