Whether you wear an insulated or a non-insulated snowmobile jacket, there will probably come a time when you’ll need some extra bulk. February cold snaps and early mornings out on the trail come to mind. That’s when you’ll appreciate having a good mid-layer piece. Last winter, I added the Women’s Elevation Fleece Zip-Up from FXR Racing to my riding apparel.

Made of 100 per cent polyester bonded fleece and thin enough to go underneath my jacket, this sweater gave me the extra warmth I needed without adding too much bulk. Being fleece, it has excellent moisture-wicking properties as well, so I stayed dry from the inside out. It kept me exceptionally warm, and it was also a great choice for spring riding when my insulated jacket was just too much for the temperature.

For 2017, FXR Racing has a few different versions of the Elevation Fleece. To see what’s available, visit the website.
