Technical riding is a lot different than trail riding. I never realized this until I actually got into it. It was then that I also realized my gear was insufficient. After tossing out my down-filled, waterproof jacket, which acted more like a plastic bag than anything, I searched for a jacket that advertised breathability and moisture-wicking—which brought me to Klim.
For many years, this company has been at the forefront of technical riding gear, and Klim surely wants to keep it that way. Recently released was the company’s new line of snow products for the 2014-2015 season. In the spotlight is the all new Valdez Parka.
A shell that is meant for layering, this un-insulated jacket features Gore-Tex Pro Shell construction. According to Klim, it is the only snowmobile jacket to feature the most durable, waterproof and breathable material technology in the world. The Valdez Parka also comes with genuine Cordura 420D material overlays across the shoulders, upper arms and elbows. Cordura 420D is a high-performance nylon material that is lightweight and abrasion resistant.
In addition, the Klim engineers have designed the Valdez Parka with an all new comfort-mapped interior and lots of ventilation ports. The Valdez Parka also comes with integrated internal hand gaitors, a snow skirt, removable shoulder pads, glove-friendly zipper pulls and a helmet-friendly adjustable collar.
Pair it with Klim’s Togwotee Bib, which has also been updated for the 2014-2015 season, and you should be ready to do some serious tree riding, carving, sidehilling—or whatever technical riding you love to do.
