Scala Rider G4 PowerSet for Snowmobiles

by Kirsten Armleder

Cruising the trails is so much better when you can communicate hands-free with your snowmobiling partners.

The new corded Scala Rider G4 PowerSet from Cardo Systems Inc. features record-breaking snowmobile-to-snowmobile intercom with a range of up to one mile. This remarkable Bluetooth system can also stream stereo music from an MP3 device or iPod, wirelessly or via cable, and it can be paired with virtually any portable Bluetooth device.

This means sledders can connect their mobile phone with the G4 PowerSet to make, receive and reject phone calls by voice command. They can also connect it to a GPS and listen to in-helmet voice instructions while they ride. The PowerSet is equipped with a built-in FM radio and the speaker volume automatically self-adjusts according to driving speed and ambient noise level.

The G4 PowerSet offers four-way intercom between two riders and their passengers or between three separate riders.

The G4 PowerSet allows up to 13 hours of talk time and one week's worth of stand-by time. It is waterproof and dustproof and features easy, five-minute self-installation. The G4 PowerSet box includes two factory-paired headsets and each one comes with a corded microphone and dual ultra-slim speakers to fit tight-fitting helmets.
