Pro-Motion pivoting rear suspension arm

by Kirsten Armleder

In 2012, Ski-Doo introduced us to something called tMotion, or pivoting rear suspension. There was a lot of skepticism, but opinions quickly changed when the technology actually hit the hills in the hands of everyday riders. So we knew it wouldn’t take long for the aftermarket parts companies to figure out a way to make this technology available for other brands.

Released in time for the 2014-2015 season is the new Pro-Motion pivoting rear suspension arm from Ice Age Performance. A bolt-on, drop-in rear scissor arm replacement, ProMotion allows the skid to flex up to three degrees in either direction for a total of six degrees. Ahem, that’s more than Ski-Doo tMotion offers. And according to Ice Age Performance, Pro-Motion gives the rider more of a steady, solid feel and less of that “wandering” feel that many riders complain about with the tMotion.

But it’s all relative, anyway, because Pro-Motion wasn’t designed for Ski-Doos. It was made for Polaris Pro-RMKs, Yamaha Vipers and the Arctic Cat ProClimb chassis. The concept is pretty much the same, though. Like tMotion, the Pro-Motion suspension arm is supposed to make carving, sidehilling and getting the sled on edge much easier.

Pro-Motion comes with everything you need to install the part and should only take between 15 and 30 minutes, says Ice Age Performance.
