First look at Arctic Cat’s 2015 snowmobile lineup

by Kirsten Armleder

Arctic Cat offers a truly expansive lineup of snowmobiles for 2015. Several new models are scattered throughout the entire pack.

New to the mountain family is the M 7000 Sno Pro 153. Powered by a 1,049-cc four-stroke engine, the M 7000 Sno Pro features a 2.6-inch Power Claw track, vertical steering post, ice scratchers and, of course, the ProClimb chassis.

Its little brother the M 6000 153 is new as well. This 125-class two-stroker comes with Arctic race-inspired front suspension, a 2.25-inch Power Claw track, a telescopic mountain handlebar and the front mounted heat exchanger.

As predicted, the 6000 C-Tec2 engine that Cat brought in last year has expanded to the M series as well as the ZR and XF family. Speaking of the ZR family, we see there will be more El Tigres in the mix for 2015, in the full gamut of engine dispacements. There’s even two new 4000 two strokers in there.

Something Arctic Cat fans probably didn’t expect this year was the return of the Pantera. This machine, which was out production for a number of years, returns with a 7000 C-Tec4 engine, Slide Action Rear Suspension, race-inspired front suspension and the Pro-Tour chassis. Electric start, digital gauges, heated driver and passenger seats and side panel wind deflectors will make the 2015 Pantera the ultimate touring machine.

The Lynx name has also returned. The Lynx 2000 LT and the fun, family-oriented Lynx 2000 are both new for 2015.

Dream machine:

"My dream machine for 2015? That's easy, it's my signature sled—the M8000 David McClure Special Edition! I like that it comes with the heavy duty front bumper, the lighter weight fixed steering post and the tether, as well as all the other features that come on a regular Sno Pro M8000." David McClure, pro RMSHA racer and Arctic Cat backcountry freerider.
