There were a lot of cancelled events in 2020. One of the many scrapped events from last year was the International Snowmobile Congress (ISC), which was supposed to happen in Regina, Saskatchewan, in June 2020 but was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Normally at the ISC, the Canadian Council of Snowmobile Organizations (CCSO) Snowmobile Excellence Awards are handed out. Because the ISC was cancelled, the CCSO Snowmobile Excellence Awards were also called off.

“Our whole program was put on the shelf for the year due to many ongoing financial considerations with so many trails and clubs closed early by their premiers,” said Dennis Burns, CCSO executive director. “We are currently working through the ongoing issues again this year. Hopefully we are back to normal sooner than many people are predicting.”

ISC 2021 is scheduled to take place later this year in Omaha, Nebraska, from June 9 to 12, 2021.

Western Canadian Snowmobile Excellence Awards

Despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, snowmobile clubs across Western Canada managed to hand out their Snowmobile Excellence Awards. The results of these awards are now available to view in one handy dandy place—here!
