Whether it is exploring the trails, cruising across a lake or carving up fresh snow that turns your crank, The Pas, Manitoba, has the kind of terrain that will delight every kind of snowmobiler.

This town, which is one of the oldest settlements in the province, is surrounded by an endless string of lakes and rivers with about 350 kilometres of groomed snowmobile trails meandering around them. Many of the trails are connected, too, so it’s easy to generate a circle loop. And thanks to the very active Kelsey Trail Sno-Riders, there are seven well-maintained cabins scattered along the trails.

The Atik Trail and Clearwater Lake are a couple of popular routes to try, but the opportunities are limitless because snowmobilers can extend their ride beyond what The Pas has to offer by jumping onto one of the many trails that connect from other communities.

One of the biggest advantages to riding The Pas is that riders can stage right from town. Remember to bundle up, though, because winters in The Pas can get nippy. Long, cold winters make for a sledding season that starts in December and lasts until April.
