If you don’t already know, the Sicamous area is sledder friendly and has bottomless powder. Sicamous has received many awards as a sledding destination and has everything a sledder needs.
Uncharted territory
We rode the trees in bottomless, virgin powder for hours. We had a friendly fire and a wienie roast, to everyone’s delight. The weather cleared and we headed off to Skinny Ridge, which allowed us access to many untracked bowls and beautiful views. Skinny Ridge is aptly named; I would guess Skinny to be maybe two sleds wide at its widest point. We ran hard and were exhausted at day’s end. I ran out of fuel on the way down.
Down to the Pass
Eagle Pass is remote, challenging and for the experienced only. We had a wonderful ride through the trees and then a challenging ride up into the alpine. The climb up is referred to as The Waterfall. The Waterfall was frozen and buried in metres and metres of snow. Allow spacing between sleds while climbing The Waterfall. Stay together in your group; the area is vast.
