Saskatchewan is slathered in a thin layer of snowy trails just waiting for sled tracks. Lucky for you, you don’t have to wait until winter to see all of the sledding space to explore. We’ve collected breathtaking photos of northwestern Saskatchewan’s trails to scratch your sledder’s itch.
The expansive trails of North Battleford rank third largest in Saskatchewan, with 450 kilometres of groomed trails. Sledders explore seemingly endless trails, which stretch across North Battleford, Meota, Vawn, Edam, Livelong, and all the way to Turtle Lake, Gaslyn, Cochin and Delmas.
The North Battleford Trail Breakers have kept their trails smooth for the public since purchasing their first groomer way back in 1998. Now, their trails are home to the best warm-up shelters in Saskatchewan.
These trails run along creeks, through valleys and over rolling hills. Experience ultimate snowy scenery, then catch your breath at one of the many shelters. Noble’s Nook offers up the picture-perfect Jackfish Lack, while the Round Hill Ranch gives you the Thickwood Hills and valley views. Be sure to check out Battleford’s Barley Bin on the trails between North Battleford and Delmas. This one-of-a-kind shelter is actually a remodelled grain bin, perfect for warming up in any winter weather.
