Jeff Cool

Jeff Cool will divide the coming winter between his 2011 Arctic Cat Turbo M8 and a 2013 Polaris Pro RMK

Jeff Cool is the kind of rider who goes right when everyone else goes left. He loves to explore the vast terrain in Tumbler Ridge, taking in just about anything the eight feet or more of annual snowfall can throw at him.

Cool was born in Labrador City in 1968 and moved to Tumbler Ridge in ‘83 with 10 years of sledding already under his belt. He got started on a 21 HP 1977 Olympic 300 and will divide the coming winter between his 2011 Arctic Cat Turbo M8 and a 2013 Polaris Pro RMK.

“My favourite kind of riding is boondocking,” he said. “I like exploring to find new areas.”

There’s no shortage of adventure for Cool in Tumbler Ridge, which he said is so vast it keeps him guessing every year.

“There are lots of new areas to discover and the area is not bombarded with out-of-town riders like in Revy or McBride,” he said. “I can be in some nice snow 45 minutes after I leave my house.”

Albright Ridge is Cool’s go-to spot because of the mix in terrain and expert challenges. He’d like to give Revelstoke a try in the future—an endless playground of high-mountain peaks, deep bowls and unstoppable powder.
