This member of the Snowmobiling Hall of Fame even got married on a sled

Jeannie Brewer knows her sledding.  An active rider since 1967, Brewer, who rides a Ski-Doo 800 Renegade, even got married in her ski suit to husband Chris in a snowmobiling-themed wedding. Both were recently inducted into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame. So when Brewer says a ride is enjoyable, you know you’ve got a good ride ahead of you.

“The trails that run north of Saskatoon are a very enjoyable ride with really well-groomed trails,” said Brewer. “They are an easy way to access the north, and that’s a good thing.”

Staging takes place right from the Saskatoon Snowmobile Club’s clubhouse, which Brewer loves for its ease, its size and its access to the trails.

“They have the best shelter,” said Brewer, “because what Saskatoon has done is they’ve enabled a staging area for people to be able to go to Saskatoon and go to that clubhouse where the parking lot is cleared and unload their sleds.

“Naturally you can’t ride your sled within the city, there is no way to do that,” said Brewer. “So you need to unload, and that is a great place to do it.”

With trails that hook up and venture all the way to the Duck Lake area, Brewer said that some of the new trails that are set to be developed will also offer some incredible riding.

“If you’re brave enough now,” said Brewer, “you can ride the right-of-way or cross-country if land permission permits and ride all the way to Humboldt. The trail hasn’t been developed there yet, but I know it’s something that the Saskatoon Club wants, and there is even talk of a club forming in Humboldt.”

“When that happens,” said Brewer, “that’s going to be a really awesome ride from Saskatoon to Humboldt.  It’s not in place yet, but those are the goals of that club.”
