Name: Devina Rosenberger

Lives in: Creston, B.C.

Age:  24

Rides:  A 2007 Arctic Cat M7. She loves it because it is comfortable and easy to ride.

Sledding since: Devina Rosenberger has been riding for 18 years, but for the past six years, she has been hardcore mountain riding. She loves just going out and having fun, climbing hills and carving up the lakes. Her nemesis is big climbs—going downhill messes with her mind. She looks forward to this upcoming year and challenging herself. Rosenberger took some time off last year to have a beautiful little baby girl. While she admits that she sees life a bit differently now, she still plans on challenging herself to gain new skills and overcome her fears.

Favourite riding zone: Up the Salmo-Creston Pass—the Nun Lakes ride. It’s always challenging, and exciting.

Sledding peeps: Rosenberger feels like her riding peeps are like her family. They are always there for her, and encourage her to push herself. They are only there to help and never to judge. One of her favourite riding peeps is her husband, Jared. He is always there to encourage her, and to push her forward. If he tells her “You’ve got this,” she knows that she can do it.

Why do you ride? I ride because I love it—I love being outside and like feeling like I’m on top of the world.

Rosenberger’s words of wisdom to a new sledder:  Never do something you are uncomfortable doing. Ride with experienced people who you can trust. Work your way up to new challenges, and don’t be afraid to push yourself.
