How long have you been a sledder? I’ve been around sleds since I was a kid but (I) seriously got into sledding in 2011.
First sled: 2007 Arctic Cat M8 SnoPro 153
Current ride: 2012 Polaris 800 Pro-RMK 155 (a.k.a. Chuck Norris)
What do you like about your sled? Hmm, where to start . . . the fact that it is so easy to manoeuvre; (it's) super light, so if I get stuck I can usually get myself out! The power is amazing and he just seems to float on the snow!
Would you change anything about it? Turbo? Ha ha—nope, (I) love Chuck the way he is.
Where do you usually ride? Mostly Giveout (near Nelson, B.C.) but we do venture to other places like Norns, Redfish, Rover and the Bombi.
Favourite riding: I love playing in clear-cuts and doing the odd little climb.
What was your most memorable ride? (There are) so many, but the Ladies Ride (on February 12, 2012, in Nelson, B.C.) for sure. I think they are all memorable—good or bad days—because I usually learn something new and boost my confidence.
What was your most epic sled whoopsie? Hmm, well I usually have a whoopsie every time I go out, but the most epic so far would have to be when I planted myself and my sled vertical on a rock face and it took awhile for everyone to find me because they did not expect to find me up there.
Where do you want to ride in the future? I would love to ride Meadow Mountain and hopefully Trout Lake, B.C., in the spring.
What does sledding mean to you? Sledding is something that I look forward to all week; it lets me take my mind off a busy work week and I get to spend time with Tyler and some amazing friends!
