Alan Breitkreitz

Profile of snowmobiler Alan Breitkreitz of Barrhead, Alberta

by Michelle Carr Johnston

Alan Breitkreitz has been riding in the Barrhead area since 1987. He started out with a 1977 El Tigre Arctic Cat and now rides a 2005 Polaris 700 RMK.

“I love the ride”, said Breitkreitz. “It’s comfortable, faithful—I’ve had zero problems.”

Breitkreitz is almost ready for his next sled, however; he’s planning on upgrading to the new 800 RMK.

Breitkreitz knows all the nooks and crannies in Barrhead’s landscape; he’s lived there his whole life. He loves going out and meeting  people on the trails and at the cabin. He is especially fond of taking visitors out on “Adventures with Al,” during which he can showcase the amazing rides to be had around Barrhead.

“There is a variety of terrain close to home—jumps, trees, gullies,” said Breitkreitz.

This is Breitkreitz’s favourite thing about riding in Barrhead: everything a sledder wants, right out the front door.

In the future, Breitkreitz hopes to continue his adventures and try out some rides in Sicamous and Chetwynd, B.C.
