We heard you’re itching for a snowmobiling holiday! High Level has what you’re looking for. This sled-friendly community can offer all the necessary ingredients for your most memorable winter vacation.
The club has you covered
First, consider that High Level has one of the best clubs around. The Watt Mountain Wanderers has been taking care of the trails since 1997 with the help of its 130 members. Since its origin, the club has made continual improvements and upgrades to the trail networks, making High Level the popular snowmobiling zone it is today.
The Watt Mountain Wanderers is not just devoted to trail maintenance; its members also do a great deal for the community. Every year they partner with riders from their own area and from nearby Rainbow Lake and raise donations of money and toys for local children in need.
The club also hosts an annual poker rally in February, snowmobile drag races on a monthly basis and a fishing derby in March.
Where and why do snowmobilers ride here?
The most well-loved trail in the area is the Main Loop (also referred to as the Watt Mountain Loop). This route boasts a perfect combination of wildly beautiful surroundings and riding suitable for all ability levels. It is 134 kilometres long and immaculately groomed.
You can also try out the Machesis Lake Trail, which takes you southeast of High Level. The trail extends for 74 kilometres each way and leads to the scenic Peace River. The territory here is rather flat, so it is ideal for beginners or young sledders.
The best part? Either of these trails can be accessed from any hotel in High Level, and there is ample space to park your trailer, no matter where you choose to stay. Being able to ride directly from your room is a welcome treat.
