Rachelle Callan is the new ASA Director at Large.

Rachelle Callan is a 21-year-old young woman who was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. Her passion for snowmobiling started at the young age of eight, when her father introduced it to her. It was after she fell off her father’s sled that she knew she was hooked.

From the age of 11 to the present, Rachelle has owned a 1996 Polaris Indy, a 2007 Yamaha Phazer and now her 2012 Polaris RMK. It wasn’t until three seasons ago that Rachelle had the opportunity to join a clinic with Stephanie Schwartz of DSG Backcountry Riding Clinics. She learned a lot about snowmobiling, including how to throw her weight around and the basics of sidehilling.

Rachelle came on the ASA board after having a great conversation with Denise and Amanda. She wants to make a difference in the community as well as represent minorities such as women and younger riders. Rachelle has also been inspired by the amazing work Stephanie and Crystal Lynne do within our community and wanted to be a part in a way that suits her skills and abilities.

Currently, Rachelle is finishing her business degree at SAIT, majoring in human resources. She hopes to work for a company that challenges her and improves her skills. Rachelle is also an avid photographer, and she focuses most of her work on portraits and action shots of her fellow riding buddies. This is also her third season on the executive of the Calgary Snowmobile Club, taking care of membership for the 2019/2020 season. Rachelle also holds an active role in promoting women in this amazing sport that we all enjoy.

Feel free to follow Rachelle on Instagram to follow her journey and get to know her on a personal level! @ratchella_22.
