Snoman was pleased to host the 3rd Annual Making Tracks ride along with the North Star Hill Climbers. On February 15, 2019, we had four MLAs riding the trails: Shannon Martin (Morris), Dennis Smook (La Verendrye), Sarah Guillemard (Fort Richmond) and Greg Nesbitt (Riding Mountain). We were joined by Kyle McFadyen and Cory Meyers from the RCMP. Wayne Vandersteen, Snoman vice-president, and Enns Bros Alan Carriere rode with us as well as Ralph Hindemith who led the group. We were joined by our president, Alan Butler, who gave the safety briefing, and his wife, Linda, along with myself. The group departed South Beach Casino and rode the club’s trails including the scenic Belair Forest trails.

“The Making Tracks ride is Snoman’s opportunity to engage new and novice riders to showcase our trail system and the great winter recreational activity of snowmobiling,” stated Alan Butler. “We attempt to engage some new riders each year.” Fun was had by everyone as evidenced by the smiling faces in the photos. A big thank you goes out to our sponsors Enns Brothers, Headingley Sport Shop and Sobetski Enterprises. In addition, we would like to thank Lance Thomson for all the great photos as well as the club volunteers for treating us to lunch.

Here’s what a couple of riders had to say:

“Thank you, Snoman Inc.—president Alan Butler and executive director Yvonne Rideout—for the hospitality today. It was my pleasure, along with MLAs Dennis Smook, Sarah Guillemard  and Shannon Martin, to participate on a 100-kilometre ride on the Snoman trail network north of the South Beach Casino. Thanks also to the Ski-Doo and Polaris dealers for the use of the machines, and to RCMP officers S/Sgt. Cory Myers and Cst. Kyle McFadden for the escort and traffic control.”
—Greg Nesbitt, MLA Riding Mountain

“I had fun experiencing and exploring Manitoba’s winter beauty on well- groomed trails. Thank you to Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Manitoba and Snoman Inc. for making sure we stayed safe while having fun!”
—Sarah Guillemard, MLA Fort Richmond
