Whatever your pleasure, Prince George offers a rewarding sledding experience

This region's history includes one of the biggest gold rushes ever to hit North America. Today, the Prince George, Wells and Barkerville areas are experiencing a modern-day bonanza of sorts: this time it involves snow—white gold—and the shiny glint of snowmobiles. Prince George now boasts more than 300 kilometres of groomed and maintained trails to the south and about 150 kilometres of trails on the west side—and, of course, the 170-kilometre trail to Barkerville. Scroll down on our Prince George landing page for information on sled dealerships, destinations, snowmobiling trails, snowmobile-friendly accommodations, local snowmobiling clubs and more.

    Simply exceptional

Smithers is a regional service centre for the entire Bulkley Valley and, therefore, offers many more amenities than you would normally see in a town of this size. The town is set against the backdrop of Hudson Bay Mountain to the west and the Babine Mountain range to the east, which makes a very picturesque setting and prime sledding territory. It also makes for quick and easy access to the backcountry, lending itself to all kinds of outdoor recreational pursuits. Groomed trails and untracked wilderness extending hundreds of miles offer a snowmobiling experience full of thrills and excitement. Enjoy a winter day in one of British Columbia's most spectacular backcountry areas. There are six mountain cabins constructed for your warmth, convenience and leisure. Two of the six cabins are propane equipped and provide excellent shelter; they are maintained by the Smithers Snowmobile Association (SSA).
