Whether you are a mountain sledder or a trail rider, there will come a day when you need to pack extra fuel. It’s nearly impossible, though, to strap a jerry can to the back of your sled and not worry it will go flying off on the first bump you hit.
A rugged and lightweight option for carrying extra fuel is Port Tack Racks. These racks, which are manufactured in Vancouver, B.C., come in two sizes.
The compact size fits two 2.5-gallon jerry cans or one five-gallon jerry can while the large rack will fit two five-gallon gas cans—or one and extra gear. Having been designed around the dimensions of jerry cans, the racks provide a snug fit for them but to keep the cans completely secure, there is a special ratchet strap, which is sold separately, that makes bungee cords and tie-downs seem obsolete.
The company that designed Port Tack Racks also makes snowboard and ski holder kits for the racks, which mount on the outside of the racks.
Port Tack Racks bolt onto your sled’s tunnel, and they fit just about every make and model on the market. With reinforced corner welds, structural aluminum and powder coating, these racks are built to last.
