LensPen camera lens cleaning system

As snowmobilers, we tend to be a little hard on our cameras, carrying them into the backcountry in the dead of winter. And when fingerprints, water spots or specks of dust appear on the lens, it’s hard to resist the urge to simply wipe them away with a tissue or the edge of your shirt; but the damage that can be caused to your lens will cause further aggravation. Liquid cleaning agents can be messy and they may leak when they are left to bounce around in your camera case.

Last season, I carried the LensPen with me in my avy pack. It’s a handy little tool for cleaning camera lenses, binoculars and other optical items. The LensPen comes with a retractable dust removal brush and a special non-liquid cleaning element that is designed for several uses. In fact, the company that makes the LensPen claims the element will never dry out. LensPen isn’t much bigger than a Sharpie pen so it fits right in your camera case. It is gentle on your lens and easy to use so you’re always ready to whip out the camera and catch your buddy’s big air jump.
