Knowledge is power

The Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) has released the newest book in its series that identifies fatal avalanche incidents and analyzes the circumstances of each one.

Avalanche Accidents in Canada—Volume 5 assesses 105 scenarios with input from Bruce Jamieson, Pascal Haegeli and Dave Gauthier, all of whom are experienced avalanche researchers. By dissecting the details of such events, these experts aim to give readers a comprehensive understanding of the factors that led to the tragic outcomes. Specific information includes terrain ratings, snowpack summaries, tabulated warning signs and material from avalanche bulletins.
