Boondockers 10 film review

by Trish Drinkle

It’s how we ride—pure and simple. Dan Gardiner and his team capture the essence of mountain freeriding yet again in their current film, Boondockers 10. This film showcases riding in the backcountry of Utah, Colorado, Nevada, Idaho, Wyoming, California and, surprisingly enough, Newfoundland!

Gardiner’s combination of wicked music and epic awesome footage sent me into a state of goosebumps, especially the deep powder tree riding. It's like you are there—you can feel each well-planned carve in the trees and the lump in your throat as Kris "Smasher" Kaltenbacher or Geoff "Phatty" Dyer huck it huge. Matt Entz's steep tree riding and his snorkle-deep carving smack-down is phenomenal, to say the least. This is what we all wish for.

With a spirit of giving back, these riders aren’t simply in it to be superstars. Each one of them contributes to the sport of snowmobiling. With avalanche education fundraisers, support of clubs and organizations, and setting a solid example of a true mountain rider, the Boondockers crew has it all.

Boondockers 10 is one of my faves in my must-have sled video collection for this 2013-2014 season.
