Bombardier Recreational Products set a new standard for mountain sleds when the company first came out with its rider-forward, REV chassis. For 2013, they are trying to raise the bar again with an all-new REV-XM platform on the Ski-Doo Summit X. According to the company, the REV-XM platform offers new ergonomics, function and styling.
The 2013 Ski-Doo Summit X utilizes tMotion Rear Suspension, which enables the rear suspension to twist two degrees in each direction. Ski-Doo says this suspension is designed to make it easier for riders to cut and hold a line.
The Flex Edge Track is another innovation on the 2013 Ski-Doo Summit X. The track is 41 centimetres wide and it has centred, reinforced rods that are shorter than traditional designs that run the full width of the track. This means that two inches on the outside of the track can bend and flex when the rider makes a turn.
Other features of the 2013 Ski-Doo Summit X include a new handlebar controls configuration, running boards with large openings, warm glove box, stiffer grab handle on the handlebar and an adjustable ski stance.
