After almost two years of planning, the 2015 World Snowmobile Invasion in Whitecourt, Alberta, is upon us. This five-day event begins on Wednesday, February 11.

As promised, SnoRiders (yours truly) will be there, bringing you full coverage from all five days of this event. There are a few ways you can keep track of us:

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s going on this week:

Wednesday, February 11:

Golden Triangle Guided Tour (Registration is now closed)
9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
A two-day guided tour of the Golden Triangle snowmobile trail. More info.

Millar Western Ice Carving
4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
This event is free. Anyone can come and learn how to create a sculpture of their own. There will also be a life-size carving of a snowmobile on display. Location: Canadian Tire Welcome Centre in downtown Whitecourt.

Thursday, February 12:

Golden Triangle Guided Tour - Day 2 (Registration is now closed)
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
A two-day guided tour of the Golden Triangle snowmobile trail. More info.

ASA World Snowmobile Parade and Celebration
7 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Sledders will be attempting to break a Guinness World Record for largest snowmobile parade in downtown Whitecourt. This event is free to spectators and participants. Pre-registration is required for participants. All ages are welcome. More info.

Friday, February 13:

Silver Summit Guided Tour (Registration is now closed)
9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
A guided tour to the Silver Summit Ski Hill toward Edson. More info.

BRP/Polaris Freestyle Show
7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
A snowmobile freestyle show featuring Levi LaVallee, Sam Rogers, Willie Elam, Daniel Bodin, Fred Rasmussen and Joe Parsons. Location: Westward Community Centre in Whitecourt. More info.

Western Canadian Festival
10 p.m. - 1 a.m.
This 18+ event features a country western bar theme with music by the Boom Chucka Boys. Location: Allan & Jean Millar Centre in Whitecourt. More info.

Saturday, February 14:

Chamber of Commerce Valentine’s Day Breakfast
7:30 a.m. -10 a.m.
Bring the family by the Chamber of Commerce in Whitecourt for a $10 buffet-style breakfast.

World Snowmobile Rally/ASA Jamboree
9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Ride in the rally and see the world. Themed checkpoints will be set up on two different rally routes. Participants will get the chance to sample cultural food and get their World Snowmobile Invasion passports stamped. More info.

Secure Energy World Snowmobile Showcase
8 p.m. - 1 a.m.
This is an evening of food, refreshments and entertainment from around the world, featuring Alan Doyle of Great Big Sea. More info.

Sunday, February 15:

Rotary Pancake Breakfast
7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
Stop by the Welcome Centre for a $5 pancake breakfast sponsored by the local Rotary Club.

World Snowmobile Rally/ASA Jamboree
9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Ride the other rally route and see the rest of the world. More info.

BRP/Polaris Freestyle Show
7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
If you missed Friday night’s freestyle show, this will be another opportunity to see Winter X Games riders Levi LaVallee, Sam Rogers, Willie Elam, Daniel Bodin, Fred Rasmussen and Joe Parsons. Location: Westward Community Centre in Whitecourt. More info.
