Round 3 Voting: Heavyweights vs. the rising stars

Destinations that entered the SledTown contest for the first time this year are becoming top contenders

by Kirsten Armleder

The competition is heating up. We’ve moved on to Round 3 of the SledTown ShowDown contest, and only four towns from each province remain. These four will now go head-to-head with each other until only two from each province are left.

Which towns are still in the running? It’s the heavyweights versus some rising stars:

British Columbia Voting Bracket

Sicamous vs. McBride
Valemount vs. Fernie

Alberta Voting Bracket

Crowsnest Pass vs. Grande Prairie
Athabasca vs. Whitecourt

Saskatchewan Voting Bracket

Carrot River/Arborfield vs. Chitek Lake
Archerwill vs. Hudson Bay

Manitoba Voting Bracket

Swan Valley vs. Gimli
Powerview-Pine Falls vs. Woodridge

The deadline for Round 3 is November 19, 2017.

Round 2 recap

There were some close battles in the B.C. bracket last round. McBride, for example, defeated Smithers by only one vote and Fernie overtook Golden by just 14 votes. Again, it was Saskatchewan that did the most voting, followed by B.C., Manitoba and then Alberta—which begs the question: could Saskatchewan be more serious about its snowmobiling than the rest of Western Canada . . . ?
