What makes a great sled town? Is it really just about the snow? Or do the trails, people and local amenities play a part as well? Perhaps it’s the combination. Fact is, we’re not really sure, and so that’s why we’re asking for your help in choosing Western Canada’s No. 1 sledding area, a.k.a. town.

It’s called the SledTown ShowDown contest, and the voting starts right now.

How it works is we’ve selected 16 popular riding areas in each province (B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba). Then, over the course of six weeks, these areas will be whittled down to the final eight and then the final four. Finally, a winner in each province will face off until only one survives to be named the 2015 SledTown ShowDown Champion of Western Canada! If you want the winner to be your favourite area/town, then you’ve gotta vote, and vote now.

Voting is easy

Just go to one of the following provincial brackets and vote for all eight head-to-head match-ups within the bracket.

  • British Columbia voting bracket
  • Alberta voting bracket
  • Saskatchwan voting bracket
  • Manitoba voting bracket

For full details of how the contest works just go to the SledTown ShowDown homepage. There are six rounds of voting or what we call “brackets,” and for each, you will have at least two weeks to cast your vote. But remember, you can only vote once on each riding area per round—so make your vote count and get your riding buddies voting, too!

Win cool prizes

Vote for your favourite sledding destinations today and enter to win a Sunshine Houseboats vacation for four days, and four nights on a 12-passenger houseboat on beautiful Lake Koocanusa. It’s the perfect sledder's summer holiday and a way to have fun while waiting for winter.

More details will follow and will be posted on the SledTown ShowDown homepage. So check back often and make sure you vote in every elimination round.

Share your photos of your favourite sled town

We’ve tried our best, but we are missing a few images so you are invited to submit your photo or video. We hope to use your photos in the poll for the next voting bracket. As an additional perk, your photo will also be entered in our monthly Hotshot Contest and you could win even more prizes.

Will your favourite riding area/town be crowned the 2015 SledTown ShowDown Champion of Western Canada? Let's see . . .
