X Glides

by Kristen Mitchell

Loading and unloading your sled is a necessary evil that is required to enjoy a day out in the snow. Thankfully, ramp glides are a straightforward product that can help everything go more smoothly. X Glides are the best-priced option available on the market, but they also have a number of other unique features that make them a good choice for anyone who participates in motorsports.

To begin with, X Glides are extra wide—this allows them to fit different machines and also makes them a great option for ATVs, which now often have very wide tires. Additionally, each piece is a full nine millimetres thick. Pass-through venting in the glides helps eliminate the problem of rot in trailer decks. This venting also helps keep snow and mud at bay when X Glides are used on a ramp.

X Glide pieces offer great value; an eight-piece box covers 20 running feet. They also have 16 mounting holes each, which allows for a universal fit. They can be mounted where needed, and can then be trimmed for a perfect fit. Spacing grommets and stainless steel screws are provided in each box. To install the glides in a metal ramp, you need to pre-drill holes, while for wood decking, you simply need to screw the pieces down.

The X Glides are designed to allow carbides to slide easily while providing grip for tires and for walking. They’re made from virgin high-density polyethylene, a durable product that, once installed, should last for the life of your decking or ramp.

After two years on the market, X Glides are now available at 40 powersports dealers across Canada as well as online. Whether you ride a sled, ATV, UTV, motorcycle—or any combination thereof—X Glides are sure to make getting to your staging area easier.
