Lighter than air

The Klymit Kinetic vest brings a note of nobility to staying warm this winter. The vest packs paper-thin for easy transport or for wearing under normal gear, but the truly innovative function of the vest is that it is inflated using argon canisters.

The vest packs paper-thin for easy transport or for wearing under normal gear, but the truly innovative function of the vest is that it is inflated using argon canisters. Argon, one of the noble gases, is weightless but provides more insulation than “dead” air. The flexible, airtight chambers are only 15 millimetres thick at full inflation, providing maximum warmth with minimal bulk. Having tried it myself, I can promise that this vest is worth far more than its weight in gold.
