EarthX lithium battery

by Dave Norona

Having electric start is awesome. However, the biggest hurdle for most in going with e-start on their sled or dirt bike has been the added weight of lead acid batteries. Well, that weight is almost gone thanks to the EarthX lithium battery.

EarthX, a Colorado-based company, has designed its battery to not only be light—you will be astounded at just how little these batteries weigh—but they also have several features that leave them head and shoulders above the rest.

The EarthX has a built-in battery management system (BMS) that protects the battery from over-discharging (lights left on, key on, etc.). As well, the BMS protects from over-charging. The BMS also balances the individual cells on the inside so you do not need a special charger for it. Your lead acid one works great.

The Earthx is a dry cell battery with zero liquid of any kind so it cannot freeze, even down to minus 70, and it is completely non-hazardous and even recyclable. Most important, it will crank your sled, dirt bike, Harley-Davidson or ATV to life in seconds.

The Earthx comes with a two-year warranty. Check it out at EarthX Motorsports or on Facebook.
