Bully Dog Triple Dog Gauge Tuners

Truck manufacturers build their vehicles to perform a variety of tasks—from picking the kids up at school to hauling sleds through the Canadian Rockies.

Most trucks come with a tow/haul setting that drivers can select, but that’s about it when it comes to adjusting horsepower, not to mention monitoring engine performance. This is when Bully Dog Gauge Tuners come in handy.

Really four products in one, Bully Dog Triple Dog Gauge Tuners allow users to tune, monitor, gauge and diagnose engine performance from a dash-mounted control panel. So if you need it, you can just crank up the power and go. Adjustments can even be made when you’re on the fly.

According to the Bully Dog company, it is possible with a Bully Dog Triple Dog Gauge Tuner to increase typical gas or diesel engine horsepower up to 25 per cent, and even boost fuel economy. Bully Dog Triple Dog Gauge Tuners will also change horsepower automatically if the engine’s oil temperature and coolant rise above the preset warning level and a message on the display panel will alert the driver of what is happening and why.

Tony Jenkins, a pro snowmobiler who rides and instructs with Bret Rasmussen at Ride Rasmussen Style, recently tested a Bully Dog tuner on his 2012 350-horsepower Dodge Cummins. In a September press release, Jenkins said the tuner he installed can add up to 120 horsepower to his truck’s engine. He also said it is easy to install.

“Anybody can buy this system and install it in about a half hour in their driveway,” he said. “It’s not a device that requires a mechanic.”

Bully Dog Triple Dog Gauge Tuners are applicable to Dodge, Ford and Toyota trucks, as well as Jeeps. For more information, see Bully Dog’s website
