Backcountry Access (BCA) has confirmed that the third-generation Tracker beacon will be released during the 2013-2014 sledding season.
Probably the first thing Tracker users will notice is that the Tracker 3 is 20 per cent smaller and lighter than its predecessor; in fact, BCA is claiming that the Tracker 3 is the smallest and thinnest beacon available in North America. Since reliability and ease-of-use are what matter the most in real avalanche situations, the Tracker 3 is built around the same fast and precise pinpointing and instantaneous real-time display that have made the Tracker beacon one of the most popular avalanche transceivers in the backcountry. The Tracker 3 also comes with three antennas and offers the capability for no-nonsense multiple-burial searching.
Once it is officially released, the Tracker 3 will be available for purchase at most snowmobile dealers across Western Canada as well as online at BCA’s website.
